Laminate |
Today laminate floor coverings are in a high demand: they do not differ much from parquet coverings having high quality and a low price. The English word laminate was initially used to designate a layered film material. Later it was then used as a general term for layered floor coverings. A laminate flooring can be made of planks or high-density fibreboard (HDF) and paper. The paper is soaked with melamine resins and then pressed with a panel (this process is done under high pressure and high temperatures). Durability of such a floor covering depends on the quantity of melamine and thickness of the upper layer.
Some of the advantages of a laminate floor are a high resistance to stress and dirt repellent. It does not fade under the influence of sunlight and it does not contain harmful substances. It is made of natural raw materials. Among other things, it provides an excellent noise insulation, it burns poorly, and it is well suited for floors with water heating. Laminate floor coverings are very resistant to abrasion.
Laminate comes in a variety and you can easily find a suitable one for you. Good colors and textures are available in large quantities. The advantage of laminate over parquet is that it is covered from top with synthetic material, which increases its durability, reduces the possibility of deformation, and makes the floor covering resistant to moisture. Laminate is easily packed, it requires little maintenance and it is easy to replace if damaged.
