Parquet and Laminate Floors

Parquet is a classic type of all floor coverings. Parquet is not only the most noble and expensive, but it also requires a lot of care. Ten years ago, parquet and parquet board were the most common types of flooring. Today use of parquet flooring has a number of difficulties including considerable expenses for repairing. Therefore, parquet is economically viable for expensive renovations while laminate is preferable for less expensive ones.

Aesthetically laminate is as good as parquet, but it has a number of advantages over it: laminate costs less; it is durable and easy to install and care. Moreover, a wide choice in color variety allows picking up practically any wood imitation: oak, pine, mahogany, etc.
In order to install laminate floors, there is no need to seal joints previously. Instead, common joists covered with planks or fiberboard can be used. For a standard bedroom, the installation takes no longer than four hours.

Due to its durable and moisture-proof synthetic covering, laminate unlike parquet is resistant to dirt and moisture. Parquet is inadvisable to use in public buildings since its lacquer covering does not protect it from mechanical effects and the deformation caused by furniture weight and abrasion. To install parquet floors may take several days, and unlike laminate floors, replacing damaged parquet planks has its difficulties.
